To say that the past week and a half has been a whirlwind would be an understatement. Here is a summary:

  • Tuesday, June 7th: James left for Houston, TX on a mission trip
  • Saturday, June 11th: Anabelle, Mya, and I left for a mission trip to New Mexico (with my parents’ church)
  • Sunday, June 12th: James returns from Houston and receives the news around midnight that his Grandpa Jim Hughes died suddenly at his home…James calls us with the news and we search for plane tickets back to MO
  • Monday, June 13th: The girls and I spent the day in Zuni and booked plane tickets back to Missouri, then drove to Albuquerque, stayed in a hotel due to an early flight the next day
  • Tuesday, June 14th: Anabelle, Mya, and I (and Kathy!) flew back to Missouri
  • Wednesday, June 15th: Spent the day with family mourning the loss of Grandpa Jim
  • Thursday, June 16th: Visitation and more family time
  • Friday, June 17th: Funeral Mass and more family time

So as you can see the Copeland’s have been quite busy and completely out of “normal” for us. All this to say, we are so thankful for family and friends who have surrounded us with love and support and childcare when we needed it : )

I intend to blog about specific events within our whilrwind of a week but for now a few pictures will have to be enough:

At the hotel swimming on the way to New Mexico (please excuse the weird look on my face)
